Unique, authentic Moroccan rug made from Atlas mountain wool. A one-off.
Azilal carpets or Azilals, as their name suggests, originate from the craggy and steep Azilal region, located in the remote and hard to reach High Atlas mountains, in the south of the city of Beni Mellal, about 180 km North-East Marrakech.
Azilal carpets are typified by alternating composed patterns of one single knotted line and one or two woven lines, according to a cultural ritual mothers have passed on to their daughters for generations.
This rug has been sourced from one independent local supplier who is passionate about the Berber culture and people and has established a genuine relationship with the makers.
